Why HarmonyWorks?

Because harmony does work when you are in tune with yourself and the natural world around you. Everything in Nature vibrates to different frequencies, some audible and some inaudible to the human ear. Sound healing can help you clear your energy field and create the stillness needed to connect with Nature.

One of the definitions of harmony is “An orderly or pleasing combination of elements in a whole.” Nature is the whole, and you are one of the elements.

About Karen Walker

Karen Walker is certified in Integral Sound Healing through the Sound Healing Academy in the UK. She brings over 30 years of healing arts experience to each session. Karen learned various body therapies at the Desert Institute for Healing Arts in Arizona and The Body Therapy Institute in North Carolina as well as training in breathwork, astrology, crystal therapy, and other healing practices.

Karen has also facilitated group experiences in drumming, tribal dance, toning and ceremony. Her BFA in acting trained her to use her body as an instrument for sound, rhythm, and movement.

She also worked as an Activities Director and Director of an Adult Day Center in a Continuing Care Retirement Community and taught dementia education for over 15 years. She uses music, rhythm, and movement to help engage people living with Dementia and other aging challenges.

Her Story

Karen has a diverse background that includes a combination of science, arts, and metaphysics. From birth on, she accompanied her parents as they frequented the Native American Indian dances of the Yaqui, Hopi, Navajo, Zuni, Apache, Tarahumara, and various Mexican indigenous tribes. She spent her first decade traveling throughout Mexico and the United States instead of attending public school while her parents collected snakes and native seeds.

Karen was exposed to Transcendental Meditation at the age of five, and she remembers sitting on a rock and waiting for her magic word to come. She went on to explore Raja Yoga, Nicherin Shosho Buddhism, Evangelical Christianity, Astrology, American Indian Ceremony, and other mind-expanding disciplines.

She earned a BFA in Acting from USC, taught theater, performed for all ages, practiced as a licensed bodyworker for over 20 years, and worked in Senior Communities for several decades. Her most valued experiences are the two home waterbirths of her now-adult children.  She practices in a local studio, senior communities, private homes, and outside on the land of Sedona.

Karen now realizes that her magic word is frequency.

Karen is kind and bold, strong and gentle, and plays with presence and grace. She meets you where you’re at, making the experience completely personal and encompassing. I immediately went on a journey and had beautiful visions and, ultimately a sublime experience. I highly recommend her sessions! I had a stroke that left me with almost no use of my left arm, hand, and fingers. Karen used tuning forks on the meridians and Tibetan singing bowls to send sound waves and vibrations throughout. I felt very relaxed afterward. Later that day I grasped my daughter’s hand with my left and squeezed. She cried and she was so happy. Karen knows so much about how your body works and how to use her tools to help you feel better.Paula Olquin-Age 81
